Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Registered Art Therapist
Katelyn is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist who specializes in individual therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. She often integrates creative expression into therapy, incorporating art-based interventions for clients interested in exploring their thoughts and feelings through non-verbal means. As an art therapist, Katelyn believes that creative self-expression can be a powerful tool for healing and growth. Sessions frequently include drawing, painting, or other creative activities tailored to each client’s needs and preferences. When working with children and teens, she regularly collaborates with caregivers, offering parent coaching sessions to help improve overall client functioning and strengthen the support systems surrounding her clients. While she is a trained art therapist and gently encourages creative expression in sessions, she also understands that art isn’t for everyone. For clients who prefer a more traditional approach, she draws from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. At the heart of her work is a belief that a strong therapeutic relationship—built on trust, safety, and mutual respect—is the foundation for meaningful change.

Katelyn began her professional training in 2008 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Therapy from Mercyhurst University in 2012. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College in 2015. Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including inpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient mental health services.
When Katelyn’s not at the office, she tries to make time for creativity and self-care. She has always enjoyed ceramics and still has a passion for working with clay—even if time has made it more of a “someday” hobby. Recently, she’s picked up crocheting as a new creative outlet and has been experimenting with making stuffies for her little ones. Katelyn also loves staying active, whether it’s going outside for a walk with her dog, chasing her kids around the backyard, or fitting in a workout class.
