Licensed Independent Social Worker, Addictions Specialist
*Virtual services only
Janet Crate is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and addictions specialist who sees individuals and couples who are dealing with issues that block their enjoyment of life. She recognizes that the most important component of any treatment is the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. Janet offers the respect and empathy that are vital to establishing the trust that ensures the success of the relationship for clients from ages 20 to 80. As a believer in the mind-body connection and cognitive behavioral therapy, Janet utilizes guided imagery, meditation and energy work to facilitate healing.
Janet believes that the answer to any problem lies within oneself. She feels fortunate and privileged to watch clients in their self-discovery process. Sometimes the solution comes quickly; sometimes the process takes longer, but clients leave each session knowing they have options and seeing possibilities for change. Throughout the process, unpleasant emotions lessen or disappear and there is relief. A client commented to Janet, “I have gotten more from my sessions with you than with any other therapist I have seen.” Her compassion and belief that everyone can access their inner ability to heal gives clients the courage to explore and discover new insights, leaving them with more confidence to resolve their problems.
