Dr. Linda McGraw
Dr. Linda McGraw is a licensed clinical psychologist who, for the past 30 years, has assisted clients in coping with a wide range of emotional problems, including depression, anxiety, grief, psychological trauma, work-related stress and relationship difficulties. Her professional goal is to facilitate her clients’ happiness and fulfillment in life.
Her work with thousands of individuals through the years has shaped her strong belief in the resiliency of the human spirit and commitment to a mind-body-spirit focus in her clinical work. This orientation led her to pursue advanced training through the Center for Mind-Body Medicine and her own certification as a yoga teacher from the Integral Yoga Institute.
Dr. McGraw never loses sight of what a great honor and privilege it is to have clients share their thoughts and feelings, hopes and dreams, successes and struggles with her. She believes therapy is a two-way process and is grateful to her clients for what they teach her on some level each and every day.
Dr. McGraw received a doctorate degree from the University of Akron, completed a three-year post-graduate program at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and trained in the field of domestic and divorce mediation at Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio, Columbus, Ohio.
Prior to practicing psychology, Dr. McGraw was employed for seven years as an educator in both public and private school settings in both rural and urban districts. She taught elementary school and served as a work-study coordinator for high school students after earning an undergraduate degree in education. The experience and knowledge gained from this professional background has served her extremely well in working with parents, couples and families.
In working with clients, Dr. Linda McGraw emphasizes the importance of developing a trusting therapeutic relationship. This is established by providing compassionate, respectful care, which takes into consideration the “whole and unique person”, including one’s life history, current situation, family/cultural background and perhaps, spiritual orientation. She strives to create a confidential and comfortable therapeutic environment for all those seeking assistance at The Organization for Psychological Health.
Dr. McGraw specializes in psychology for adults and limits her work to adults.
